2015 Advent Calendar made easy!

We ended up having a lovely Thanksgiving, and Thanksgiving Pt. 2 “The leftovers return”, all thanks to my in-laws.  It’s been years since someone else has cooked the big meal for me, so this was absolutely wonderful!  What a great break!  With all of this extra time, I was able to focus and create our Advent Calendar for December.  I usually make one with cardstock and put it on the wall in the shape of a Christmas Tree, but space is at a premium these days.  So, I picked up this cute one at Target.  This really was an impulse buy, but I knew as soon as I saw it, it would be perfect.  The little pockets are perfect for a slip of paper and a small piece of candy.  My daughter saw it hung up and was instantly in love.    You can also DIY some really cute calendars.  My favorite is the cute critter display here.  There are so many possibilities!

Moving Out Quickly (Pt. 3)

So we are here! When we last left off on our adventure, we were packing our life into storage units and moving into the camper. Well, we managed to do that, and I thought it was going to kill us! There’s so much more I wish I were able to do. I wish I was able to clean the house up more. I wish I was able to pack the RV better. And I wish we had done more laundry before moving in. Time doesn’t wait for wishes though!

Moving Out Quickly! (Part 2)

We are on Part 2 of “Moving Out Quickly”.  I am trying to hang on to my sanity while my house looks like it has been through an unnatural disaster.  Thankfully, I’ve had some flexibility with work and have been able to do a great deal of packing.  Here’s the run down on the last couple days:

We have officially bought out all of the Heavy Duty Boxes in the store

We have officially bought out all of the Heavy Duty Boxes in the store. . . and nice socks

Day – 5: We called the electric company and water company to make sure we weren’t missing anything when it comes to transferring ownership.  We gave the realtor that information to pass on.  I opened a P.O. Box and sent a mail forwarding notice in to the Post Office.  I stopped by the kiddo’s school to write a note that she would now be a car rider.  So far she has not missed any school in this huge transition.  The Hubby and I packed up our offices and emptied the bedroom closets except for our clothes.  At the end of the night, in a move of desperation, I made some Thanksgiving Pancakes to add some cheer and use up items in our pantry/fridge.  They were a success!  After that, I used a little deep tissue massage to work out a knot in the Hubby’s back so we can press on for the next day.  The pressure is starting to build.  We are all super excited the house has sold, but now I feel like we are running out of time.

Moving Out Quickly!

And… we are back to frantic mode again!  The hubby and I are so happy that the offer worked out, and we have come to a deal.  Our house is officially off the market and in contract.  The catch is that we have to be moved out in exactly 7 days from today.  7 days!

Even with our house staged, we still had a full house of furniture.  So what have we done in the last couple days?

Our House is Finally for Sale!

Lease to Purchase offer

Good News:  We had a potential buyer look at our house

Great News:  Said potential buyer made a great offer for the house

Scary News:  Potential buyer wants to lease the house while waiting for their own house to sell.

So this weekend has been an emotional roller coaster for the hubby and I to say the least.  We were delighted when our realtor called us up on Friday night and said there was a potential buyer who wanted to maybe look at the house.  Cue the small happy dance.  He called back on Saturday morning to let us know that the seller’s agent would be taking a tour of the home.
