The Gulfport Harbor Lights

This weekend the little girl and I had a great time at Jones Park, Gulfport.  We were able to see the Gulfport Harbor Lights.  For a first annual show, I am so proud of the whole set-up.  We had a great night just relaxing and walking  around, looking at the light show.  I’ve never been to anything like this, so seeing it for the first time with my little one, made it very special for the both of us.

The Gulfport Harbor Beach at Sunset

We started out the day by walking on the beach because we arrived a little too early.  The sky and weather were both beautiful, and it made for a perfect start.  We had the beach to ourselves and could have made sand angels. . . but I value my sanity when cleaning out my car.

The Peter Anderson Festival Ocean Springs, Mississippi

Exploring the Peter Anderson Festival

Peter Anderson Festival - Ocean Springs, MS

Hanging out with a mermaid. The Kiddo was thrilled as you can tell.

What a beautiful day!  The Kiddo and I spent the morning exploring the Peter Anderson Festival in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.  “What is that?” you ask.  Well it happens to be a great little two day festival featuring the talented local artists here.  It was named after Peter Anderson, of course, a local artist who lived in Mississippi.  Also, one of the best places to go gift shopping in South Mississippi.  I fell in love with so many things, and I think I am going in for round two tomorrow.  It started raining at noon while we were out, so we had to head home early *sad face*.  But I grabbed as many vendor business cards on the way back to our card so I could share some of my favorite artists I saw with you!

The Longfellow House "Bellevue"- Pascagoula, Mississippi.

Pascagoula, Mississippi

Pascagoula, Mississippi has a special place in my heart.  I was born in the hospital there, and my dad lived there for many years.  I always find myself returning there when I can, for a look into how it has changed.  It’s such an odd little town , built on industry and the water.  I grew up there hearing about the Legend of the Singing River and other ghost stories of this area rich with history.

Biloxi Lighthouse

Cruisin’ Biloxi, Mississippi

Cruisin’ the Coast has hit Biloxi, Mississippi!  This weekend has been so much fun because of it too!  This is such a big event for the area, and all of the Mississippi Gulf Coast is packed with beautiful fun cars every October.  If you are a motor head, this is the place for you!  So what did I do for Cruisin’ the Coast?  Well, I like cars but not that much.   There is so much more to do here in Biloxi, Mississippi than Cruisin’ the Coast.    So even though I have lived here most of my life, there are still landmarks I haven’t seen.   With the impending move, I’ve started to take my final tour of the Biloxi landmarks.

There's a cruiser right there!

First Camping Trip

So we embarked on our first camping trip this weekend.  To say it was a first camping trip is a bit of a stretch, but it was the first time for us to take a camping trip in our RV!  But the road to fun was rocky.  First off, the hubby and I have been very busy with work this past week.  I had a break on my statistics class, which was good luck.  No quiz…woohoo!  But this was graduation week for my teaching job, and we had several employees out due to position turnover.  All this just equates to me being busy and doing enough work for two or three employees.  The hubby was the same with several work emergencies popping up, and he almost asked to back out of the trip.  I’m glad we went.  By 5:45 PM we were able to pull our rig out for the adventure.  I’ll be honest, hooking it up was really easy!
